Pikemat aega on plaanis juba teha mõned videod Eesti jaoks kohandatuks.
Hea idee allikas on olnud wizards ise nende enda toodetud videoga.

Tootmine oleks meie enda stuudios lihtne.

Hi there. Jimmy here to walk you through your first game of Magic: The Gathering.
Terekest. Ma olen Jürto ja ma olen siin, et juhatada sind läbi sinu esimese magic: the gathering mängu.

The first thing you're going to need is a deck.
Esimene asi - Sul peab olemas olema mängupakk.
If you don't have one, see if your local game store has a Welcome Deck.
Some stores offer them for free to new players.
Me pakume neid uutele mängijatele tasuta.
They come with two 30-card decks
Need tulevad kahe 30-kaardise paki näol.
so you and a friend can learn to play.
Seega võta sõber kaasa ja saate seltsis mängida õppima.
You can also pick up a Planeswalker Deck.
Lisaks on veel võimalus soetada omale planeswalkeri pakk. See on veidi keerukam versioon tervituspakist.
A 60-card deck built around one of the many iconic characters in Magic.
You win a game of Magic by reducing your opponent's life total
from 20 to 0.
20-st 0-i
And that's usually done by attacking them with your creatures
Seda tehakse tavaliselt loomadega rünnates.
and using spells to make sure their creatures can't attack you.
To start a game, shuffle your decks and randomly decide who goes first.
Usually people roll dice.
Tavaliselt veeretatakse täringut.
Draw a hand of 7 cards
Tõmba oma pakist 7 kaarti.
and whoever won the dice roll goes first.
Ja täringuviske võitja alustab
In a one-on-one match, the player who goes first doesn't get to draw an additional card.
But every other turn starts with the player drawing the card.
Aga iga muu käik algab kaardi tõmbasmisega.
The first thing to play is a land.
Esimene asi, mida lauda panna, on maa.
You get to play one land every turn.
Seda saab teha üks kord käigu jooksul.
Lands represent the mana you use to cast spells.
Maad annavad mana, mida omakorda kasutatakse nõiduste mängimiseks.
Every spell you cast has a casting cost,
Igal nõidusel on maksumus...
which tells you the number and color of mana needed to cast them.
This spell requires 1 white mana and 2 of any color.
See nõidus soovib ühte valget ja 2 ükskõik millist värvi mana.
While this spell needed 2 green mana and 4 mana of any color.
This line tells you what kind of spell you're casting.
See rida ütleb, mis sorti nõidus su mängitav kaart on.
Some spells stay on the battlefield, like
Mõned nõidused jäävad lahinguväljale, nagu...
creatures, artifacts, enchantments, Planeswalkers, and equipment.
... Loomad, artefaktid, lummused, planeswalkerid ja varustus.
Some spells, like instants and sorceries, have an effect and then go to your graveyard.
To cast any of these spells, you use your lands for mana.
selleks, et ükskõik millist neist nõidustest mängida, saab kasutada mana, mis tuleb sinu maadest.
To use your lands, you turn them sideways, or tap them.
Tapping is very important because it shows the card has been used for the turn.
Täppimine on väga tähtis, sest see ütleb, kas mingit kaarti on juba see käik kasutatud.
At the beginning of your next turn, before you draw a card,
you'll untap all of your tapped cards.
?????(untäpid?) sa kõik oma täpitud kaardid.
On your turn you can cast spells before and after combat.
These two main casting phases of your turn are when you get to
play a land that adds mana,
Mängida maa, mis annab mana...
summon creatures to fight for you,
Kutsuda loomi lauale enda eest võitlema...
or use other kinds of spells.
Või kasutada mingit muud tüüpi nõidust.
One type of spell, called an Instant, can be cast at any time.
Ühte tüüpi nõidus ????? (kiirnõidus?) (instant?) on selline, mida saab mängida igal ajal...
Such as during combat or even during your opponent's turn.
Näiteks rünnaku ajal, või isegi vastase käigul.
So, think of your turn this way
Nii et mõtle oma käigust nii -
Your turn starts and you get to untap your cards and draw a new card for the turn.
You can then play anything you have the mana to play.
Seejärel võid sa mängida mis iganes kaarti, mille jaoks sul piisavalt mana on...
Then you can attack your opponent with any creatures you have.
siis võid sa vastast rünnata oma loomadega...
Then you can play any more spells you have the mana to play.
Your turn ends and then your opponent's turn begins.
mille järel lõppeb sinu käik ja vastase käik algab.
There's no difference between the main phases that happen before and after combat.
You can even wait to play your land until after combat if you prefer.

Now let's talk about what happens during combat.

Because the goal of Magic is to reduce your opponent's life total to 0,

creatures you control will only attack your opponent.

Normally creatures will never attack another creature,

although there are some advanced spells that allow this to happen.

In combat you declare any creatures you want to attack your opponent

by tapping those creatures.

Remember, a tapped creature can't block when your opponent attacks you.

Also creatures can't attack the turn they are played,

because newly cast creatures suffer from Summoning Sickness.

After you decide which creatures are going to attack

your opponent then gets to choose which creatures the block with,

and who blocks who.

Then damage happens all at once.

This is a creature's power.

Creatures deal damage equal to their power during combat.

This is a creature's toughness.

If a creature takes as much damage as its toughness, it dies.

If a creature isn't blocked, that damage goes to the player.

All creatures that were damaged, but not killed,

heal back to full toughness at the end of each player's turn.

Alright, let's look at an example.

This is also a great opportunity to show you how instants work.

Say I'm attacking with a Runeclaw Bear.

And my opponent chooses to block with a Summit Prowler.

Normally my creature would die.

But I have Ornamental Courage in my hand,

which is an Instant.

At any point during the Combat Phase I can play this Instant.

I pay the casting cost and cast Ornamental Courage on my Runeclaw Bear

once my opponent has chosen their blocker.

Now my creature has 3 power and 5 toughness,

which should be enough to turn the tides.

But then my opponent plays Highspire Infusion

on their Summit Prowler.

Another Instant, in response.

Your opponent can respond with their own Instants

if they have the mana to play them.

Now their creature has 7 power and 6 toughness.

My Runeclaw Bear still dies.

Once combat and your two main casting phases are over

you pass the turn to your opponent.

And those are the basics of play.

Every Magic card is different and affects the game in different ways.

Each card also explains what it does.

Take a look at Serra Angel.

It has Flying and Vigilance

and the reminder text explains what those words mean.

If you're ever not sure what a card does, you can visit

gatherer.wizards.com

and search for that card for its full rules.

Now that you know the basics,

get out there and challenge your friend to a duel.

Hey everybody, Jimmy here.
Let's talk about some of the different ways to play Magic: The Gathering
and the places you can play them.
If you started playing Magic with friends at home around the kitchen table
well, that's how most people start playing Magic.
And the rules can be whatever your playgroup decides.
Want everyone to start at 100 life instead of 20?
Go for it.
Want everyone to have to wear clothes that match their deck's colors?
That's… weird. But you do you.
But, if you want to go outside your playgroup you're going to want to build your deck to one of Magic's many Formats.
A Format refers to a way to play Magic and each format has its own set of rules for building your deck.
The most played formats are Standard, Sealed, and Draft.
Standard is the, well, Standard.
It's the most popular format in Magic.
You just need a 60 card deck, no more than 4 copies of each card
Except basic lands, you can have as many of those as you like from any card sets that have been released in the past 2 years.
If you want to know which card sets are legal in Standard right now Visit magic.wizards.com/standard
Standard falls into one group of formats called Constructed,
because you are constructing your deck in advance.
The other side of the coin is Limited
where you build a deck from a limited pool of cards
usually just before you play.
One Limited format is Sealed Deck.
This is the foramt you'll play if you attend a Prerelease.
You'll get 6 packs of Magic and you'll have a set amount of time
to build a 40 card deck from just the cards you opened (plus basic lands).
So, in contrast to a Constructed format like Standard you can't use cards from your personal selection.
Only what you have in front of you.
The draft is the other Limited format.
In this format, you sit down with a number of other players each with 3 packs of cards.
Everyone opens one pack and selects, or drafts, one card from that pack.
Then passes the rest of the cards to the next player.
The packs go around the table until all the cards are gone and then you do the same with the other 2 packs.
You have to be thinking about what kind of deck you're building as you draft.
Because afterward you need to build a 40 card deck with the cards you drafted.
There are even more ways to enjoy the game, both Constructed and Limited.
So head on over to magic.wizards.com/formats
for all of the different ways to play.
So, where are you going to play all of this Magic?
The great place to play Magic is your local game store.
There's probably always someone around who's up for a game.
But more importantly, most stores host FNM, or Friday Night Magic.
FNM is a weekly gathering of your local Magic players
To hang out and to play Magic.
Every store runs its FNM a little differently.
But most FNMs tend to be Standard or Draft.
Even if that night's main tournament isn't a format you're interested in,
there are probably other players who still want to play with you.
You can win prizes for doing well in the tournament
and even get special promo cards.
If you aspire to greatness, there are ways to play Magic at the highest levels.
Including local tournaments, a Grand Prix Circuit,
and a Pro Tour that pits the best players and teams against one another.
Of course, if you're not playing on the Pro Tour
you can still watch it on the Magic: The Gathering Twitch channel.
That's all there if you want it.
But no matter how you want to play Magic
or where you want to play Magic
the most important takeaway from all of this
is that you should have fun playing Magic.

Tere, Mina olen Marko

Creatures that fly.
Creatures that breathe fire.
Creatures that kill anything they touch.
And cast devastating spells.
Spells that destroy your opponent's creatures
Spells that make your creatures more powerful.
Even spells that tip the whole game in your favor.

So how do you play?
Magic: The Gathering is a collectible card game
You buy cards, play with them, collect them, and trade them.
There are five different colors of Magic cards
and each color handles things a little differenty,
so you can choose what kind of Planeswalker you want to be.
Maybe you like smashing your opponents in with giant creatures.
Or maybe you like controlling what your opponent can and can't do.
Or maybe you want to burn it all down and run away with a devastating victory.
Magic is customizable to how you want to play the game.
Magic is also constantly evolving.
It doesn't just take place on one world, it spans a Multiverse filled with rich environments and diverse inhabitants.
Each new card set visits one of these places.
And as your collection grows, each new set also adds more creatures and spells to your arsenal, and gives you new strategies to fight your opponents.

Check below the video for more info on the best way for you to start playing Magic.

Hello, I'm Jimmy.
And today we're going to walk through building your first Magic: The Gathering deck.
Where do you start?
For your very first deck, the best place to start is picking up
one of the pre-built Planeswalker decks.
Play with it a couple of times on its own.
See what it's capable of and what you like most about how it plays.
Next, you can tweak it.
Open up some booster packs and see what you get.
Then you can swap out cards from the deck for some of these new cards.
You want to keep your deck to 60 cards.
That means you should have 25 Lands, 25 Creatures, and 10 Spells.
Make sure your creatures and spells are all in the same two colors.
Oh, and you can't have more than 4 copies of the same card.
Except for basic lands. You can have as many of those as you like.
When you add a new card, you got to pick one to take out.
I know it's hard, but that's what deckbuilding is all about.
Don't be shy about trying it too. Experiment.
The only way you're going to find out if these cards are any good is by trying them out.
And one extra tip.
Make sure your spells have a good mixture of casting costs
so you've got cheaper spells to play early
and big threats to finish the game later.
Now you've got a good idea of what a deck will look like when it's finished.
But what if you want to build one completely from scratch?
A great place to start is to think: Why are you building this deck?
Say you opened a really big creature like Verdurous Gearhulk in a booster
and you really want to play it.
You can build a deck around this card.
In this case a Green, or mostly Green deck
that makes sure you can play your favorite card.
Suppose you like elves. You can just build an elf deck.
Start by getting together all the elves you have
and then experiment with other spells to see which ones work best
with your new elvish friends.
Maybe you don't care about specific cards, but you want to build a deck
that fits the style you like to play.
If you like attacking and killing creatures fast
you want to build a deck full of low casting cost creatures and spells that deal damage.
Or maybe you want big, scary creatures and ways to generate extra mana to cast them early.
Or maybe you want to sit back and control the game
while slowly squeezing the life out of your opponent.
That's fun too.
There are tons of different ways to play Magic
and each of them can apply different restrictions on how to build your deck.
But to start with, just focus on building a 60 card deck with whatever you want.
Build.
Play.
Tweak.
Play again.
And soon enough you'll get a feel for ways to make your deck even better.

Minu meelest on see väga hea idee.
Ma kusjuures vahepeal kaalusin mobiili äpi tegemist, mis tutvustaks Magicut Eesti keeles ja kus oleks nooremale mängijale rohkem talle meeldivamalt kirjas, kus mängida saab jne. Maagia.net on üpriski arhailise väljanägemisega ja võib peletada potentsiaalseid mängijaid eemale.
